Rates
The most common question we get is "what are your rates". Because of the differing needs of each project, there's really not a direct answer for that question. In most cases we provide an engineer, but some clients bring their own. Some want to rent special equipment or hire Mike Caffrey to produce as well.
We could provide a long list rates for every possible scenario, but the most important thing to understand when shopping for studio time is that rate is not the same thing as cost. This is true for any studio you talk to about rates.
If you tell us the amount of money you have budgeted for your project and what you need to get done, we will present you with a plan to get it done for that amount.
When you email or call, tell us as much as you can about your project - what kind of music, will you be bringing in a complete band, how many people, how many songs, are you recording, mixing mastering or the works, what is the project for - a demo, an EP, and album, is it a DIY project or for a label, do you have any specific equipment or instrument needs, how much time do you think you need and the budget.
Often people want to tour the studio before making a decision. This is a very good idea, as well as meeting the people you'll be working with. The are a variety of times throughout the week when we can do this, but it's always dependent on whether a session is happening. Fridays, late afternoon/early evening is often a good time.
We look forward to hearing from you and working on your music to make it the best it can be.
