Started in January of 1995, Monster Island is the first web-based independent record label and distributor. The purpose of this site is to provide the exposure and distribution for independent artists that is normally achieved only with major label recording contracts as well as selling CD's at a cost only possible through the Web.
We have always provided a large variety of audio file types in order to reach as large an audience as possible.
While many labels are trying to limit the availability of MPEG files, we have replaced all of our MPEG layer 2 files with MP3. They will always be free for anyone willing to take the time to download them.
We have found that when people hear the music on this site they come back to purchase CDs. If you forward any of our MPEG files to friends, please let them know where they can buy the CD. Feel free to let people know that we have MPEGs available that don't infringe on anyone's copyrights.
Follow the links for AUDIO HELP from each artist's page to download (free) the most current audio software, or for instructions if you are new to online audio. Send messages to Monster Island artists as you listen and let us know what you think from our Feedback page.
