Audio Help

Monster Island uses two types of audio software; RealAudio, and MPEG Layer 3 known as .mp3 files.

Real Audio will stream, meaning you can listen to the song as it dowloads. In order to do this, the audio is compressed which reduces it's quality, but reduces your waiting time.

MPEG Layer 3 uses a different form of compression than RealAudio. As a result the quality is substantially higher, but you must download the entire song before you can listen to it. The download time is usually 10-15 minutes. If you do this, feel free to make an cassette copy of anything you download for yourself or friends. No selling them though, and please let them know that they can buy a CD through this site.

Two common problems:

Sometimes MPEG files will not play unless they are opened from within the MPEG Player applicaiton. To do this launch/start your MPEG player, goto "Open" which you will find under "File" in the pulldown menu across the very top of your computer screen. The find the file you wich to open, and open it.

You must have the most current RealAudio player to hear the higher quality 3.0 files. Follow the links below to get the player if you don't already have it.

If you are sill having problems after following the instructions email for help.
