.32-20

Firey, down-home rock and roll, steeped in blues, country and soul.

.32-20 is a band that could electrify a stage in a Chicago blues club, or win over the audience at the Grand Ole Opry. they are the Real Deal, and Divine Ignition is a fantastic first release.

--Bill Camp, Blues Rag

Named after Robert Johnson's ".32-20 Blues," New York's .32-20 comes on with a big bang on their debut album, "Divine Ignition." The sound is a bracing meld of Delta blues, rockabilly, old-time country and roots rock, fueled by guitarist Ben Fraker and singer-guitarist Matthew Feuer, whose slide work is clearly influenced by Duane Allman and Muddy Waters. The album includes 10 originals that rock with a roots rock or roll with Carl Perkins-style brittleness, though the title track suggests a Springsteen-style heartland rocker done country style. Naturally, they include two Robert Johnson covers -- the one that gave them a name and "Judgement Day."

-- Geoffrey Himes, The Washington Post

Named after a Robert Johnson tune, this New York based band performs an excellent collection of delta and country flavored blues. Matthew Feuer is a great guitarist and his slide work really stands out on a number of songs. His vocal work is also quite good. Feuer sings smoothly, but with a lot of energy. Often the group harmonizes on songs, with outstanding results, especially on the title cut. Rhythm guitarist Ben Fraker and drummer Nancy Polstein are solid musicians and singers. Many of the original songs are quite rocking, while maintaining the integrity of the delta blues sound. This debut release is highly recommended.
